We are pioneers in the Hospital Clowning methodology in Spain and we firmly believe that therapeutic humor improves the quality of life of patients and their companions.

The medical staff, health, management, security, cleaning, etc., are figures that are expected in a hospital, but this premise is not given in the case of children and clowns. The latter have nothing to do with hospitals! For this reason there is such a special connection between the two and they understand each other so well. The clowns are the only ones who do not focus on the reason for their hospitalization, but on the way to provide them with inexhaustible joy. Element that turns out to be, the best medicine.

We believe in a financing model that balances equally between self-financing (fundraising events, contributions from partners and individuals, selling merchandising, etc.), the support of the private business network, and that of public institutions. For this reason, we have a team oriented to the professional and regular management of resources, which guarantees that all support received will be completely reconverted into a dose of happiness.

Sonrisa Médica is an association declared of public utility by the Interior Ministry in 2004. It publishes annually its audit of accounts and activity memory, in addition to maintaining a firm commitment to the quality of its services and its management, maintaining the quality system certification ISO9001:2015.

Being a therapeutic clown requires regular and constant training in various disciplines such as arts, music, health and psychology. The clowns of Sonrisa Médica are active, accredited, experienced and remunerated professionals in the performing arts; who receive regular training from the association, and who work in other artistic, and educational fields to retrain and constantly improve their performance and skills.

On the other hand, Sonrisa Médica has a remunerated management team which constitutes a fundamental pillar for the professional functioning of the entity, and counts on the strategic direction of a totally altruistic Government Board of Directors. An excellent group of professionals whose work is not always seen, but which is essential for each piece to fit in its place.
